What is Growing in the Garden Tablescape

Nothing is more satisfying than to watch the daily changes of growing veggie seeds for the garden.  Each year unfolds with selecting packet after packet of favorite veggies, like peas, parsnips, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and squash....the selection process becomes endless.  Planted in trays and placed into the greenhouse to grow into tiny plants, these healthy plants are then transferred to the plot in the prepared designated area to grow into full and mature beauties .  They will produce an over abundance of fresh veggies that cannot be compared to anything else.

The growing season has begun and is an inspiration for the Summer Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Rita from Panoply.  Being a participant in this party which begins Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, it makes me even more excited and joyful to witness another year of bountiful blessings.

So lets praise and celebrate the growing season and the gift of tasty vegetables with The Growing Garden tablescape in celebration and honor of the glorious harvest which we receive each year.

As part of farm raised goods, a centerpiece is made up of an egg basket filled to the brim with fresh eggs straight from the chicken coop.

The bright orange color from the napkins make the table pop.  Carrot napkin rings  are  tucked into a terra cotta pot with moss.  Terra cotta bunny napkin rings hold the orange napkins in place and add to the various elements found in the garden.

Two large Ball canning jars with attached wires for hanging are filled with soil, wrapped with orange and white striped bakers thread and includes a tea light for a  perfect garden lantern.

Mini terra cotta pots filled with soil, moss and succulents or faux rope carrots are scattered throughout the table.

Embellished with sage green striped ribbon, the beverage mason jars are ready to hold a cool  drink or can be filled with potato salad or pasta salad for lunch or dinner.

The salad plates with various country barn prints are perfect with neutral taupe and sage green color pieces like placemats and flatware.  Such peaceful colors.

There are even vegetables growing in the gnome family garden.

They are busy at work tending to the vegetable garden just outside their mushroom home in a pumpkin shape terrarium jar.  The gnome garden is fun to gaze at with all of their humorous details.

The appetizers replicate the mushroom gnomes home.  They are made with mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, black olives along a stepping stone path made of sliced carrots dotted with sour cream and surrounded by chopped parsley.

What an adorable and healthy mouthful.  A snack made in gnome land.

A spicy carrot shaped cheese ball surrounded by fresh and crispy veggies are bright as they are crunchy and flavorful.  No one can pass this up.  Not even the garden bunnies.

With the warm weather we have been experiencing, the garden theme was taken to the porch.  It has been so wonderful to sit on the porch after the rain storm has passed.  The scent of fresh earthy ground is a scent that restores anyone's soul.

This lovely garden rake door decor including a bright green bow, carrots and a pot of fresh herbs welcomes anyone who comes to visit.

A boxwood wreath with a green striped bow and a bundle of carrots hang above the porch bench.

Fabric found at Hobby Lobby with a lovely vegetable print makes the perfect toss pillows.

A wire basket filled with the garden harvest of fresh veggies and fruits make a great accent piece placed by the front door.  The larger size terra cotta bunny which matches the terra cotta bunny napkin rings reminds everyone that where there are vegetables there are bunnies around who eat them.  They have a very healthy diet.

As luck was with me, I found that I had enough vegetable print fabric leftover from the porch pillows to make four placemats.  So I exchanged the neutral taupe placemats for my newly created placemats with a variety of vegetables as a pattern.  It all comes together for a great tribute to vegetable gardening.

We hope you enjoyed the tour through the garden.  This is a posting found on Facebook which was too cute not to include in my garden-themed tablescape.

  1. What a charming theme for summer. The pillows and placemats tie your theme all together! The eggs and carrots remind us of farm living. But those bunnies - they are killing my bushes and flowers this past year. The babies are having a field day eating everything and I am ready to capture them and relocate them!! Enjoy summer

  5. I am just overwhelmed at all of the cuteness and cleverness that I have seen in today’s tablescape blog hop. I love the farm vibes that this table is giving off. Your dinnerware is wonderful! I love that it’s neutral and so can be paired with a lot of different colors. The chicken basket in the center of the table with the eggs I absolutely adore. My mother was big into chickens, and she would’ve been crazy about this. That fabric with the vegetables on it is wonderful. The fact that you made pillows is truly inspired. Well done here!

  6. What a beautiful and meaningful tablescape to honor all the farmers of our great nation! While I don't plant a vegetable garden, I follow a vlogger who does, and all those steps you detail are painstakingly and lovingly part of the soul of each and every farmer. Whether feeding just one family or many, it has got to be one of the most faithful of exercises, to plant and hope for a fruitful harvest. Marsha, your table details are so true to the subject, and the added whimsy of the fairy garden and your food prep (!) are brilliant. Those pesky little bunnies have a healthy diet, yes, but eating flowers like mine must be their dessert. >:^| The HL fabric made for a really nice touch in finishing out the tablescape. I love those, and the pillow covers. Great job!
Thanks so much for bringing this garden aspect of summer to the forefront of our minds. It is such an important part of the fabric of our lives!

  8. Your garden theme is delightful! I love the carrots and bunnies, although watch out, because the bunnies might eat your carrots. The gnome terrarium as your centerpiece is adorable. I like it! I've always wanted to build one of those miniature fairy houses, but I also like gnomes, too, so I might want to make one likes yours instead. Your porch is so lovely. Happy summer!

  9. Marsha, you have taken your farm and garden theme to another level!! So many cute little details!! I love the barn plates, the one with the all white barn looks just like my grandfather’s barn!! We used to sell home grown produce at a stand in the summertime- so this hits close to home as it reminds me of my childhood. Your little mushrooms are adorable, too cute to eat!! I hope you have a wonderful summer☀️🕶️

  10. Marsha, I love your creative table honoring vegetable gardening. The barn plates are so unique and are perfect for gardeners. The gnome garden adds charming whimsy. The HL fabric was a great find to make placemats and pillows. Beware of the rabbits or worse the raccoons that ate all of our tomatoes one year. Fresh veggies from your own garden are the best. Happy Summer and gardening!

  12. I'm a gardener and just love what fresh vegetables and fruits can add to a meal. Your vegetable garden tablescape was a perfect tribute to summer. Loved your homemade placemats. They work perfectly with your plates. The colors are still muted but lots of interesting things to see. The little terrariums made me smile. Pops of orange add a bit of color to the table. I could work in your garden all summer.
