Happy July! I hope everyone is enjoying the many pleasures of summer. Perhaps it might be a bit too warm for some of us, but concentrating on all the other likes of the season will bring more cherished delights to remember and carry us through the long winter.
So to name a few, there is the lush green grass and trees that provide soothing shade to relax and cool off. Add to the vibrant vegetation, there are days which include scattered rain showers and the sweet smell of soil from Mother Earth. There isn't anything fresher than the clean, robust fragrance of moistened plants, shrubs and trees that are dampened by the gentle rain. The flowers become fuller, brighter and more aromatic when the sun returns. In the evening, the fireflies light up the evening sky as they dance in a rhythmic pattern. And the highlight of the summer months are the enjoyable moments eating the sweet and delicious summer fruits that are plentiful -- juicy watermelon, cool, crisp cherries and luscious strawberries.

It was a gift from my late sister who knew how much I loved to incorporate whimsy in my designs and the cake stand could easily be included in my lime-green and red Christmas tablescape. Fun and humorous.
