The Tranquility of Easter and Spring

There is one thing to get so excited about.....  winter is over and the spring season is whispering its way into our daily life.  For the first time in a long time, I heard the rain beat down on our roof and windows this morning.  By noon the sun began to shine and the temperatures began to rise. It was an introduction to Spring and a day that was a gentle reminder that birds will sing and the smell of fresh green grass will create a feeling of excitement and hope.

Welcome to Spring and to this month's Spring/Easter Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Rita from Panoply starting Tuesday,  April 1st, 2025.  I am delighted that you can join us and hope that you have an opportunity to view all of the joyous Spring tablescapes that our designers have shared.  View each of the links below so that you can see the variety of the holiday tables. They are all truly inspirational and I am certain they will provide you with tips and ideas for your own holiday and will leave you with such furor to celebrate Spring.

The Little Yellow Corner Store has joined this year's Easter Tablescape Hop with a design that exemplifies a soft and smooth change into Spring.  The tablescape is done with delicate blues and white and is accented with gold trimmed dinnerware and stemware.  The subtle blue color reminds me of days watching the shapes of white puffy clouds in the bright blue skies or gazing out at the glistening blue water of the lake as white cap waves roll into shore.  Both can be very calming.

The delicate blue and off white paisley Ralph Lauren tablecloth and matching napkins set the foundation for the elegance of the gold trimmed china.  The table is simple but with an element of elegance.

The place setting includes a hint of whimsy and playfulness with the gold trimmed Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit salad plate.  Peter Rabbit dressed in his decorative blue jacket and surrounded by butterflies and bunches of delicate petite white flowers surely captured my heart.  It is easy for adults and children alike to fall in love with his sweetness.

The place setting glows in the morning sun and adds to Peter's cheerfulness.

A white lace placemat and a sprig of delicate white florals tucked into the napkin fold. replicates Peter Rabbit enveloped in his floral garden.

A white pitcher filled with lilacs, tulips, peonies and blue sage gives the Spring table a tranquil but yet a dramatic look.

It wouldn't be Easter without my late sister's gold eggs in a blue and white transferware bowl that she also gave me.  I love the vibrant cobalt blue color of the bowl displaying a village scene including a beautiful castle in the distance, but I have no idea the age or maker of the bowl.  Even though there is a symbol on the bottom of the dish, it is unclear as to what it is.  (The stamped symbol may even be upside down in the photo?)   I find it interesting that the village scene is also depicted on the sides of the bowl. ( I would welcome any information should someone have knowledge of this piece. )

Perhaps a cup of tea and a Easter Sugar Cookie Bar might just add to the excitement of Spring.

Who can resist the pastel blue, green, white and lavender sprinkle mix and balls.

Well, it looks like not everyone is excited for Spring.

  1. What a lovely table, with wonderful touches of whimsy. I love the flowers tucked into the napkin, a number of people have done that this morning, and I am totally taking that idea for the future. I also love your sleeping bunny, tucked up against the Easter cookie bars. They look fabulous!

  6. Serenity is the word that came to mind as I scrolled through your post. The soft colors, the easy way each table element added its soft voice to the symphony, the striking exuberance of the flower countered by shy Peter Rabbit. A table to linger over and enjoy more than once during Spring. The intricate gold bands on the dinnerware and glassware add a note of elegance — with bunny whimsy. Happy Spring!

  7. Marsha, total delight! I'm definitely an adult who adores Peter Rabbit! These plates are just the best. The image sets the stage atop you pretty blue linens, and love the napkin fold. I need to remember that one! I agree, it replicates Peter Rabbit enveloped in his floral garden. Well done! Happy Spring! Happy Easter!

  8. Marsha, I’m a big fan of Peter Rabbit and Beatrix Potter so I adore your table! I have a set of PR plates but have not seen that particular Zrike patten…I love the flowers and butterflies with Peter! I love the addition of the butterfly napkin under the salad plate, along with your pretty RL paisley tablecloth and napkin fold. I did a Google lens search on my laptop (right click on an image if you’re using Chrome.) The stamp is upside down, and the pattern of your sister’s dish is Victoria Ware Flow Blue. I love your pretty springy floral arrangement too! As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you! Happy April 🐇💙

  9. What a beautiful table Marsha! The soft colors of the RL paisley tablecloth and napkins makes the perfect drop for everything else. My eyes kept going back and forth between the Peter Rabbit plates and the stunning flower arrangement. I had to google blue sage because I had never seen it before - just beautiful. Your collection of gold-rimmed china is lovely and how special to be able to use the blue transferware bowl and gold eggs from your late sister - both are so unique. The Easter cookie bars look so good. It was a pleasure hopping with you and wishing you and yours a glorious Easter!

  10. Such a calm and beautiful table, Marsha. Your description of the blues reminding you of the clouds and white caps is very much a visual I can relate to also, although the white caps I've seen lately are on the river, and from the March winds! I love the Peter Rabbit plates, and those beautiful eggs your sister gifted you in that transferware bowl. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed yours and the other stylists' words describing the arrival of spring and what it means to you, as shown in the choices for your spring / Easter table. I so love spring, and appreciate you joining the group to share your talent. Happy spring!

  11. Your table setting is a beautiful example of tranquility and peace. Loved how everything was pulled together by the gold rims on all the dishes. they were perfectly offset by the lovely blue and white tablecloth. Even the flowers reflected the calm of the table with their blues and whites. Peter Rabbit certainly takes center stage in the plate stack bringing back memories of childhood. So nice to have a remembrance of your Sister on the table. Wishing you a lovely week.

  12. Oh blue and gold! I love that combination, and you’ve done it so elegantly! I love your tablecloth, especially, and the gold-rimmed china and glassware. The bunny plates are darling and so fun without detracting from your gorgeous vibe! So nice to have your sister’s beautiful eggs – it makes the table even more wonderful when you have sweet memories to go along with it! Mmmmm the frosted bars look delicious, and yes would be great with a nice cup of tea!
Looks like your bowl is “Victoria Ware Flow Blue Ironstone,” a “modern” (1920s or 1960s) replica of an old style design, and you’re right, the backstamp is upside down. It’s a lion and a unicorn on their hind legs holding a crest with a crown on top. The words are Victoria Ware inside the banner, and Ironstone below. Thanks for the puzzle – I love finding out the history of china! It's been lovely hopping with you – hope you have a wonderful spring!

  13. Marsha, your floral centerpiece is absolutely stunning! It caught my eye first thing. The Peter Rabbit plates are precious. I have a soft spot for Peter Rabbit. My oldest son’s baby nursery was decorated with a Peter Rabbit theme. The bowl of golden eggs is beautiful, and I know you must treasure them. You always make the best desserts. Those cookie bars look both festive and delicious. I hope you have a happy spring! Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors

  14. Oh Marsha, what a lovely and inviting Easter table! That Ralph Lauren linen is the perfect anchor to your beautiful scene. And those bunny plates - yes! I love Peter Rabbit (that was the theme for my daughter’s nursery many moons ago! So he will always have a special spot in my heart!) And your sister’s golden eggs are such a special addition! It all comes together so beautifully! Happy Easter, my friend!
