A Paper Rose

Making this paper rose for the Contemporary Animal Print tablescape was fun and very quick.  As I was making them, I knew that they can be used in various ways.  I did see a collection of them made into a beautiful wall wreath and from a distance you wouldn't even know that it was made of paper.  The Pinterest pinner which inspired me to give this a try used paper maps to make the roses.  I wanted a less colorful rose, so I choose to go with music sheets.  The music sheets were purchased as a book at a resale shop for twenty-five cents.  I think the older the sheet music, the better since the pages become brown with age and it adds a more vintage look.  This simple and inexpensive project  easily qualifies to be posted under my category, Frugal Frittering.  Give it a try, it is a lot of fun.

Although there are many paper roses and their instructions out there on the internet, here is the direct link that I found on Pinterest to the instructions that I used on how to make this charming paper rose:

  1. Good Morning- I saw a comment you left somewhere and noticed that you are from WI. I knew I had to pop over to visit you! I live in WI also and have been blogging for about 4 years. Looks like you are a new blogger and I am your 2nd follower. Good luck growing your blog. The only hint I have for you is that you might want to put your real first name on your blog somewhere so that people can "personalize" and create a bond with you. You could even do it in your sign off---as in say Linda @ The Little Yellow Corner Store. Just a thought.
Nice to meet you and I will put you on my side bar right away. Hugs & Welcome- Diana

  2. Hi Diana,
Thank you so much for suggesting that I add my name to my blog so that others may know who I am personally as we develop new friendships. I have been so occupied with the postings, especially the tablescapes, that I keep delaying my need to write up a profile about myself too. I am also trying to learn the functionality of the blog itself, like the gadgets and widgets, etc. Can you suggest any resources? I am so happy to hear that you are in Wisconsin too. What part? Although it has been so cold, we are so fortunate to have very little snow this year. I appreciate you becoming a follower of my blog too. My fun in blogland is just beginning. Stay warm and thank you for becoming my new Wisconsin friend. Stop and visit more often. You are always welcome. ----Marsha

  4. Hi Jacqueline,
I am so glad you liked it. I have been looking up the amazing things you can do with paper and adding them to my tablescapes. I like the small inexpensive details that can still make a statement on a tablesetting without breaking the budget.

  6. Thank you Marlene. As I mentioned in a previous post, I didn't realize just how many interesting things I could make out of paper until I began looking at what others do, particularly in the line of origami. Stop in again for my next paper creation.
