Fall is here and there is change in the cool, crisp air. With nights coming around a bit earlier, it leaves evenings with more time for indoor work and projects, including preparation for the annual events, such as The Art of Tablesetting exhibit and Christmas in the Mansion 2019 at the Rahr Art Museum in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Be sure to watch for the upcoming posts on the Art of Tablesetting starting Sunday, October 6, 2019 through Sunday, November 3, 2019. Each year, dozens of designers, including myself, exhibit their creative and imaginative interpretation of various tablescape themes at the museum. So planning at this time of year is crucial and getting things ready as early as possible is necessary, including any plans or preparations for Halloween at home.
This week, it is time to share with you a few of the menacing Halloween critters that have dropped by or, should I say, creeped into our porch and dining room for a frightful, but cheerful visit. Look, some are peering through the window waiting for a warm and hospitable invitation to come inside. Let me introduce you to our ghastly friends! First, meet Silly Billy, the Spider. And Sweet Sue, the Hairy Cat. She is so friendly, sophisticated and has a flair for fashion.
Oh my, they brought the whole family.
I can't forget to mention the portrait of our dear old relative, Whimsy the Witch. She was my family's long lost relative many generations ago. She always liked to travel. Can you tell? (Whimsy is a traced silhouette on black felt, framed in a floating picture frame and hung onto a decorative mirror with a transparent 3M hook for easy removal.)
The mantel is glowing with coziness and is a bit unnerving at night, don't you think? Just the way Whimsy would have liked it.
And, of course, our new friends........Meeky and Moser, the mice who found a cozy place to sleep in my apothecary jars.
They brought their friends. The tiny spiders are cousins of Silly Billy the Spider. They are just toddlers.
Awwww...a nice cozy Halloween evening all together. Perhaps a full moon? Time to entertain all who creep and crawl, don't you think? Happy Halloween decorating and come back soon.
One last note. If you love decorating for Halloween, you will love to come back to visit The Little Yellow Corner Store to view the upcoming Halloween Tablescape Blog Hop during Monday, October 14, 2019 through Friday, October 18, 2019. Chloe Crabtree of Celebrate and Decorate will host numerous tablescape designers, including myself, who will share with you all of the eerie and ghoulish Halloween table designs. Don't miss it. More Halloween fun is just ahead...............
