No Bones About It Tablescape

Happy Halloween!  There are no bones about it......this year's Halloween tablescape is decorated with bones, apples, and spiders and their webs.  The apples are not poisonous, of course, but are sweet, juicy and healthy ones.

With a busy end of September, I was not sure designing a Halloween table for the spooky season would be possible, but having all of the items "on hand", it was possible to bring it all to the table for everyone to enjoy.  This year, my inspiration for a eerie table was from the purchase of last year's clearance item, which are two skeleton hands.  Perfect for holding and serving fresh, crisp red apples.

So with the use of ruby red apples, the colors for the table were easy to decide--black, white and burgundy.  With such dark and moody colors, the table needed something to "wake the dead" so to speak.  A good choice to make the table come alive was incorporating the bold black and white striped dinner plates into the setting which provides a perfect contrast to the various Halloween scary scenes on the salad plates.

Adding a few pieces of silver and crystal to the design brings some elegant and classic touches to a bone-chilling table.  The silver tray, crystal ball floral vase and crystal votive candle holders brighten the gloom of the table.  There is a lot of spider web pattern used in the tablecloth, placemats, napkin holders and wire basket which is placed among an infestation of creeping, crawling fuzzy spiders on the table and fruit.

Would you like an apple?  The spiders are ready to join you.

Each of the salad plates have their own creepy scene.

More spider webs.

And hairy black or gray spiders.

These chilling spiders must smell the delicious creamy skeleton foil-wrapped chocolates buried among the mini glitter bones and a single apple.

Oh my, the spiders are crawling across the table. They are every where.

It sure looks like someone is ready to dip into the spider bowl for some of the velvety rich and smooth chocolates.  I can't say I blame them.....they are wonderful!

Ready to take a handful?

There is no doubt, This spooky table will have you quivering right down to your bones.  Do not hesitate, take a seat and have an apple.  Dinner will be ready soon if you are brave.

Happy Halloween!!!
