A Scarecrow at Play Tablescape

Fall is officially here and every where you look you find street side stands with pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks and Indian corn for sale.  Apple orchards are open offering their many varieties of juicy and delicious apples and hayrides through the countryside.  Bright colored mums surround the front yard of many homes and a few gardens in the neighborhood display their scarecrows with pride and in great fashion.

Of course, these are all the things I love about Fall, but the one closest to my heart is the scarecrow.  (My infatuation with the scarecrow could also be a result of growing up watching the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz).  Whether you ever made one for your own yard or not, the scarecrow symbolizes comfort and protection.  It clearly watches over the plentitude of fruits and vegetables in the garden and, by its presence, gently scares away trouble.

Therefore, this year's autumn tablescape incorporates those sweet smiling dressed up bundles of straw.  It is hard to believe they can do anything other than scare the birds away with their friendly faces and welcoming, open-armed poses.

Welcome to my Scarecrow at Play Tablescape.............

Remember these cute little scarecrow cookies?

This year these cute little scarecrow cookies are paired up with some crunchy and chewy peanut butter haystack cookies.

So take some time to enjoy the fun and playfulness of Autumn.  Thank you for visiting The Little Yellow Corner Store.  Visit again as we prepare for the many thrills of Halloween.
