A Sneak Peek at The Art of Tablesetting 2016 Exhibit

October....already???  Yes. Ahhh....yes!   Beautiful foliage and cool days for warm, soft sweaters. And it is that time of year that I look forward to for so long.  Not only do I love the Fall season, but it is the yearly Art of Tablesetting exhibit at the Rahr Art Museum in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  The exhibit will run from October 9th - November 6th, 2016 and it is located at 610 North 8th Street, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  If you plan to be in Wisconsin at this time, be sure to pop in at the museum. Admission is free and the mansion makes for the perfect setting to feel at home with an exhibit close to all of our hearts.

This past week my sister and I have been busy preparing for the opening.  I thought you might want to take a peek into the some of the unique tablescapes that will be on display including the tablescape, Tip Toe Through The Tulips, which is the table theme that my sister and I decided to do together.  I am sure you will recognize the decor since it was my previous Summer Time Lemonade tablescape used on my blog this past Spring, but with further embellishments.  You can view that post here.

If you missed last year's posts of the Art of Tablesetting 2015, you can view Part I and II under the category/tab, Rahr Art Museum Exhibits, on the navigation bar of my blog or by selecting the following links:  .Art of Tablesetting 2015 - Part I and Art of Tablesetting Exhibit 2015 - Part II

So come along with me as we view some of the interesting pieces from this year's exhibit. Remember this is work in progress, so some of the tablescapes are not completely finished at the time of writing this post. Therefore, be sure to stop by again real soon to The Little Yellow Corner Store to take the complete tour and read the full article on all of the fascinating tables. You will be amazed.

To start with, our table entitled Tip Toe Through The Tulips, was a title selected by my sister's grandchildren and includes crystal chandelier pieces for "rain" which hang from the umbrella.

I always enjoy seeing the bright colors of this tablesetting. It is certainly uplifting and whimsical, don't you think?   The lighting in the museum takes on a slightly different color than that of natural sunlight which you can compare in the Summer Lemonade post mentioned earlier.

Now for a glimpse into some of the other upcoming tables.  I hope they catch your interest. Can you guess what the themes of the following tables might be?  Stay tune for the upcoming featured post for the revealing of the exclusive themes for this year's exhibit.

I love the use of black in a tablescape and this tablescape's use of various patterns and bright colors contrasts against the black to make a great attention grabber.

Winter anyone?  This tablescape is on my list of favorites since it reflects a winter picnic.  And anyone who knows me also knows how much I love outdoor picnics.

There is something which is always elegant about pairing black and gold together.  The art piece which hangs on the wall is made with buttons.  Don't you think it adds such a exquisite effect?

Come on back for the remainder of the tablesettings.  One thing is for sure... when you attend such a wonderful event, you can always come away with an assortment of ideas for tablescape themes and will be astonished by how the artist uses a single inspiration piece to create a tablescape.

I look forward to seeing you again real soon.  Happy Tablescaping!
