I am amazed how quickly the Christmas and New Year's holidays have come and gone. With one deep breath it arrived and with the exhale we entered into a new year with our focus on Valentine's Day. There is really no time to have "holiday let-down". Of course, there was momentary sadness taking down the Christmas tree, but it did not last very long as smiles quickly returned when the Jim Shore salad plates were unpacked for the next celebration ---Valentine's Day.

If you know anything about living in Wisconsin in February, the weather can be cold and with plenty of snow. Therefore, as a Wisconsinite, when I think of Valentine's Day, I think of love and hearts, but also snow and snowmen. Let us see if you agree to mix the two........
Who wouldn't fall in love with these charming Jim Shore snowman plates?
The combination of denim blue and tomato red spells casual, playful fun like that of the bold colored snowmen and mixture of patterns. Shouldn't snowmen (or that of building one) be full of winter fun? I kept the white knit placemats on top of the denim blue placemats since it adds to the warmth that is usually needed to spend long hours outside sculpting and dressing a snowman with smiles.
The centerpiece is a tea light holder in bright, bold metallic colors which closely displays the same happy whimsical snowmen, like those on the Jim Shore plates. The shiny centerpiece snowman is surrounded by greenery, a cobalt blue bow and little red puffed hearts.
YUM...desserts look delish! Your snowmen plates are adorable as well as the mug huggers! The snowy background is the perfect setting for your table! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou chose the perfect title for your post because your whimsical snowmen brought a smile to my face. Happy almost Valentine's Day to you!

I agree with you about being sad taking down Christmas. I actually still have one little snowy Christmas scene still out because I'm still enjoying it. ;P
ReplyDeleteBTW I also like the blue accents on the table. They really complement your plates.

Marsha, your table is absolutely delightful! I love the red, blue, and white color palette, and the snowmen plates, snowballs, and puffed hearts are all adorable. Your snowman centerpiece is darling too. I agree that snowmen and Valentine's Day are perfect together. And that cake - just wow. I'm not much of a baker or cake decorator myself so I so admire others' talents in that department. Your table is set for a wonderful celebration and I'm wishing you a very happy Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteMarsha, your snowmen table is so fun and whimsical. It is always sad to put Christmas away. The snowmen plates are darling with hearts. The red and navy plaid napkins are lovely. I especially love those adorable snowmen mug climbers, great idea. Your cake looks fabulous and delicious. Sometimes store bought desserts fit the bill. Always a pleasure joining you on these fun blog hops. Happy Valentine’s DaY❤️
ReplyDeleteThe snowmen are adorable! I like that each plate features a different one -- I imagine your guests giggling over which one they'll choose. I particularly like the one with hearts on her cap! I think the playful nature of the table works well for Valentine's or Galentine's Day. The bold colors and layers add lots of warmth for this winter holiday. Decorating a bought cake with sweet valentines is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, I am definitely in love with your Jim Shore snowman plates! What a treat for I've never seen these. Each one is such a charmer, and the themes of quilt patterns and diamond checks pulls me in. I live in central Texas, so snow is rare, though we had some of late. Actually it was so little and so short lived that it was almost a non-event. That is other than leaving the garden a total mess!
ReplyDeleteYes, your table says "Winter Fun". Love the white knitted placements atop the denim, and your darling snowman centerpiece. The delicious, beautiful cake is the perfect ending. Happy Valentine's Day!
Wow, Marsha, what a way to impress with the Pepperidge Farm cake decorated as you have! Those cakes are delicious, and what a time-saving treat.
ReplyDeleteThe Jim Shore snowmen are perfect for Valentine's Day! I'm sorry to say with the unusual January we've had this year, I cannot see myself ever living further north as you do. But what I love is that you embrace it (it is your home, afterall), and you make the very most of it with the layering effects you've assembled here. The mug huggers are an adorable addition, a great conversation starter for the table. Thank you for warming up the weather with your Wisconsinite take on this mid-winter holiday. Happy Valentine's Day!
I love the Jim Shore snowmen plates, they are charming. How fun that one is wearing a toboggan with hearts and one has a heart on his belly! The white cable knit placemats are perfect for a winter in Wisconsin. The cake is amazing and how clever to take a bought cake and make it fun and festive. Happy Valentine’s Day!
ReplyDeleteYour snowman table warms my heart!! The plates are adorable and I love the textured placemats with the simple red heart placed in each corner!! The plaid really warms it up as well.Very cute - a snowman after all is the perfect man - very well rounded and comes with his own broom!! Have a happy Valentine's Day!!
ReplyDeleteYour snowman and heart table is absolutely adorable and perfect for the cold month of February. Your centerpiece is so cute and the mugs with the snowmen are precious. The Jim Shore plates are beautiful! Your cake looks scrumptious. I wish I had a piece right now. It is always a joy to join you on these hops. Shannon @Belle Bleu Interiors

ReplyDeleteOh Marsha,
ReplyDeleteYour Valentine's Day and Snowman's Smile tablescape is an absolute delight! The snowman plates are charming, and pairing them with denim blue and tomato red hues brings a playful and cozy vibe to the table.
Your idea of transforming a simple store-bought chocolate fudge cake into a Valentine's masterpiece is both practical and inspiring.
