Dad's Special Things Tablescape

Happy Father's Day for all of those wonderful men folk who are celebrating their special day with loved ones.  Even though my father passed on while I was a little girl, I can still appreciate the man that I remember and the man who was the family's strength and guidance.

It is not hard to honor this incredible man.  All I need to do is think of some of the things that he enjoyed.  There is quite a lot, but I selected just a few.  Baseball was one.  Back then when I was a little girl, summers were baseball season with the Milwaukee Braves.  Of course, it is now the Milwaukee Brewers.  And who couldn't watch a baseball game without a stadium hot dog with all the fixings, peanuts, beer and, of course, chocolate.

Let's begin with The Little Yellow Corner Store's interpretation of dad's favorite things to comprise a tablescape fit for the "sergeant" in the house.  (Dad was an Army Sergeant).

A flag or two for his military experience.

A napkin fold in the shape of a black tie.  Always a distinguished and well-dressed military man when in uniform.

A Father's Day tablescape centerpiece filled with the things he loved.

Of course, he was a man who enjoyed his morning coffee.

A vintage car vase filled with homemade chocolate spoons topped with white chocolate baseballs.  Perfect to melt into a strong cup of coffee or hot milk for hot chocolate.  (Although with our hot and very humid day in Wisconsin, it was not long before the white chocolate baseballs were melting.)

Of course, who can resist the clusters of chocolate covered peanuts.

Although my father was not a bow tie kind of guy,  a bow tie chocolate pop was never refused.

Bags of freshly popped popcorn makes for a perfect snack with a glass of cold beer at the game.

Enjoy your special day with the extraordinary man in your family.

Happy Father's Day
