A Walk Through The Easter Garden

At last we can say that the frigid temperatures of this winter is behind us and the fresh and fragrant scent of Spring growth will be forthcoming.  The feeling of renewal of yet another cycle is about to begin.  There seems to be a faint pulse building, a reawakening of life about to happen.  There is no one more happier than I.

Welcome friends.  This week will include the Easter Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe Crabtree of Celebrate and Decorate.  However, Chloe has informed us that it will be her last blog hop.  These informative blog hops organized by Chloe brought so many useful decorative ideas to many readers and happiness to those who share their love of artfully crafting tablescapes and beautifying one's home.   I am happy that she will continue to use her great talent and will be participating in some new creative adventures.  I  hope we will hear more from her about her endeavors as they occur.  So for now, enjoy this last blog hop and immerse yourself in the beautiful Easter tablescapes by visiting each blog link from the designers and good friends listed below.  Their talent and imaginative originality has been sincerely appreciated by all.

To celebrate and rejoice in this season of change, I created this year's Easter tablescape with a twist of English Cottage Countryside with bold and strikingly beautiful florals.  The colors of burgundy, buttercup yellow and sunny yellow are in keeping with Spring, but might not be totally the traditional pastel combination of colors of Easter.  They may certainly be the colors and patterns one would find while strolling through an English countryside garden.

A burgundy rose floral print on a pale yellow background table topper is placed diagonally on a deep buttercup yellow cut-out lace tablecloth.  To add more pop of color, sunny yellow placemats were added with burgundy and buttercup yellow napkins that match the tablecloth.

A rose and peony floral table garland is draped down the middle of the table with a over-size garden basket abundantly filled with the same combination of matching flowers as the garland.  It sets the entire tone for the English Garden Tablescape.  Slight glimpses of butterflies and gold Easter eggs peek out from among the garland.  The bountiful volume of large flowers immerses and surrounds guests ready to dine at the table.

And, we can't forget an Easter butter lamb for the Easter basket which is one of many items taken to church for blessings. (If you missed my previous post, Adding Homemade Sesame Seed Candy to the Easter Basket, which includes a new candy addition to this year's basket, just visit this link:   Homemade Sesame Seed Candy Recipe.  So to accompany the delicious loaf of home baked bread for Easter brunch, this butter lamb was added to the basket.  The lamb was formed from a plastic mold but has added "curls" for more chubbiness.  A fluffy lamb without a haircut.  Thick, full and with curly hair, this plump lamb is decorated with a flowered bow.  Dressed at its best for Easter.

Black pepper corns and a tiny piece of a black olive make up this adorable face of the lamb.

And, of course, little leaves make the perfect ears for the lamb.

I wish I had such full and curly hair.  He is too cute to eat!

I hope you enjoyed the English Cottage Easter tablescape and the pudgy butter lamb.  So lets now continue with more stylish Easter tablescapes from the following gifted artists.

Blessings to you all!!!

  2. Marsha, I love an English garden, so full of color and floral specimens. YOu've done a great job of creating that image on the table. I realize spring comes later in your region, but that sunshine on the table centerpiece basket of florals is a welcome preview of many days to come. I cannot get over that little lamb butter mold and how you enhanced its curls is beyond me! It is definitely too cute to eat. What a perfect touch to your table.
It is so enjoyable to share creative ideas with you in this group. Happy Spring, and long live tablescaping!

The butterfly is a wonderful touch, and the butter lamb is amazing and adorable, definitely too cute to eat! I am sad too that Chloe is ending our hops, but I am so grateful she has dedicated so much time to inspire us each season. I know she's off to do more creative things! I agree too that Spring feels especially hopeful this year and your table is welcoming, cheerful and a breath of Spring!

  4. Marsha, give me English garden any day of the week. Love the tablecloth and the colors. But that butter lamb is over the top! I've never seen anything like that. I do make a lamb cake every year from an old cast iron mold, but I believe I need to get the butter one! Happy hopping with you!

  8. Marsha I love your burgundy accents of your English country garden. You always give us an element of surprise and the butter lamb is that item in this lovely garden setting. I want to cuddle it close to me but we know I would end up... not only melting this precious lamb, but would become a buttery mess. So in lieu of that I will attempt to make one, much like yours...although you and I both know, it will turn out nothing like your adorable butter lamb.
