A Holly Jolly Mixed Up Snowman Tablescape

Even though the holidays this year are not celebrated in a way in which we are accustomed to, it is still a time to accept the challenge we are in and to find the most happiness in a difficult time.  And what reflects this the most is my Holly Jolly Mixed Up Snowman Tablescape.

This tablescape seems to really capture the time we live in.  It combines both the nostalgia of the past and a scrambled whimsy of the present all in one with some retro glassware and glass ornaments and plenty of playful hodgepodge patterns and colors. The multitude of patterns reflects the crazy and scattered days at home.  A total mix up of daily routines and plans. So why not incorporate it in my table which would fit in just fine with the rest of the day.  A jumble of patterns, textures and colors to match the mishmash day.  Most of all, I always enjoy the use of lime green and red for Christmas since they are colors which convey sassiness and have a funky silliness to it.  Perfect for the topsy-turvy kind of lifestyle.  It is a tablescape with an attitude. Yet, who couldn't use a bit of humor and comical mischief this time of year?

Join me as we mix it all up for fun and frolicsome entertaining.  And don't forget to delight in the many other Christmas tablescapes in this week's Christmas Blog Hop.  The participating designers have truly used all of their imaginative and creative artistry to bring you some fabulous holiday tablescapes and ideas for your own table.  Remember this hop begins Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 and is hosted by Chloe Crabtree of Celebrate and Decorate.  Just visit each link listed below starting December 1st and take pleasure in all of the originality.

A huge green and white ceramic ornament candle holder (not a cookie jar), makes a jubilant centerpiece.  It is filled with a string of soft white fairy lights for evening dining.

A set of snowmen salad plates are the inspiration for this mixed up tablescape.  They seem to be having so much fun playing in the falling snow.

Plenty of sparkle for the tablescape.  The Christmas holiday allows for an over-the-top abundance of bling.

Definitely, there is a profusion of patterns used in the table.  Perhaps it is extravagant and overstated, but isn't that part of the wackiness?

As evening approaches, the fairy lights give a warm, soft glow to the table and adds a bit of magic and fantasy.

A cozy, Holly Jolly Mixed Up Snowman Tablescape.

Wishing you all a lively and outrageously jolly Christmas holiday!  Merry Christmas!

Now let's not stop here.  Continue enjoying some gorgeous Christmas tablescapes by visiting each link from other designers below.

  2. Marsha, you so aptly describe life as we're living it, and your table is truly living color! I love the central ornament and little lights (what would I do without those and the batteries that power them?!). I love how you describe the lime green with the red as funky and sassy - yes, I think so. :) very playful and cute. As for going overboard? I don't think Christmas has any rules, and 2020 has certainly dealt us a course of breaking all rules! Happy December, my friend, and I'm so happy you joined us again on this hop. It's a pleasure to 'see' you again, as always.
