Happy Valentine's Day Friends!
I hope each and everyone had an enjoyable Christmas holiday. I think we all can agree how fast the holidays came and went. One thing is for sure, winter is still going to linger. We seem to bounce around with temperatures in Wisconsin. However, with each year, the upcoming Valentine's Day always seem to be more of a winter celebration. Even though the day is celebrated with chocolates and roses, I can't help but include winter elements like snow, pine branches and berries and cozy fabrics and textures.
First let me welcome you to this year's Valentine's Day Tablescape Blog Hop 2026 hosted by Rita from Panoply beginning on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. It is such a pleasure for The Little Yellow Corner Store to join this wonderful and talented group of designers who put their "heart" and soul into creating exquisite holiday tables. So "feel the love" and visit each and every link at the bottom of this post to view and enjoy the endless ideas for a Valentine's Day tablescape.
So lets begin with the warmth and color of a Valentine's Day tablescape by The LittleYellow Corner Store. The inspiration for this holiday of love came from the red and blue April Cornell tablecloth, Timeless Tapestry. We can all agree, the color red is very prominent in Valentine's Day decor. Adding a bit of light blue and denim blue with this pattern has given a subtle and different twist to interpreting Valentine's Day.
A simple centerpiece of pine branches and berries with red glitter hearts and folk-art stars are delicate details that enhances the colors and patterns in the tablecloth and does not distract from it's beauty.
Each place setting is also adorned with the folk-art heart which matches the stars in the centerpiece.
A red tapered candle with a cedar candle ring and a red heart is also a small detail for the holiday.
There is still plenty of red in the tablescape with red salad plates, flatware and vintage compote dishes.
I chose stemware and glassware which had a touch of blue at the bottom of each glass to give more interest to the blue accents in the tablecloth and place mats.

Marsha, despite the frigid temps outdoors, your table is warm and inviting. I love the charming folk-art accents at each place setting! Stay warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteI love the wintery vibe on your table! The centerpiece is lovely and your table is so welcoming. BUT what really caught my eye is your dessert! AND that you mentioned "jimmies" - are you from Boston? Have a great Valentine's Day
ReplyDeleteThat tablecloth is gorgeous! So eye-catching, and not what one would think would be traditionally for Valentine’s Day, but it works perfectly here! I am also completely charmed by the folk art hearts at each place setting. This is such a warm hearted and welcoming table.
ReplyDeleteLove the April Cornell linen! I'd use that frequently! The folk art hearts are a special touch. Thanks for sharing this Valentine table. Happy Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeletePS.
Please note to change my link with the correct new link Rita sent. Thanks!
Your table is so cute, and my favorite things are the little folk art ornaments. I also like the pretty pattern on your tablecloth! Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteSuch a warm and welcoming table. It makes you wanna to come in to the cozy warm and stay awhile. The centerpiece is lovely and incorporates that winter feel in such simple terms. The desserts look absolutely "yummy" and your guests will love them. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Marsha! Marsha! Marsha! you have done it again. I always look for that bit of inspiration you almost always have on your table. Whether it be a lamb butter mold or wonderful recipe and when I glanced at your post and saw the chocolate rose cakelets, my mouth started watering. YUMMY! I love the simple way you decorated them...and the light and delicate cakes would certainly satisfy me. Your AC cloth is lovely in red and blue. Using glassware with a touch of blue in the bottom while coordinating still leaves the red the star of the show. The folk art hearts and stars make your table so homey and cozy. Love the blue bow too. I know you will be having a bit more colder weather in your neck of the woods but try to stay warm as you enjoy Valentine's Day.❤️❤️🥰
ReplyDeleteLove your choices and settings. Tablecloth and glassware and folk art are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Marsha, Your April Cornell tablecloth provides a warm and beautiful foundation for your table! Your folk-art hearts and stars are darling and I love the blue accents from the denim napkins and glasses to pair with the tapestry pattern tablecloth. Your mini rose cakes are adorned so beautifully with the powdered sugar and sprinkles. I love your centerpiece a pitcher filled with greenery, sparkly heart picks and berries too. As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. I can’t even wrap my head around subzero temperatures…stay warm & cozy! 🩷
ReplyDeleteMarsha, I am in love with you paisley table cloth!! And since I am a denim girl you have hit on two of my heart strings right away!!! Love the folk art hearts and stars as well. Then I got to the chocolate cakes!! Oh my word!! How wonderful!! Your table gives me a warm cozy feel, which is good since we got 14” of snow here!! Have a lovely Valentine’s Day!❤️
ReplyDeleteMarsha, love your AC tapestry tablecloth. I see how it inspired the table’s decor colors. Red and blue and captured perfectly. Your folk art stars and hearts are so lovely. Your blue bottomed glassware are coordinated nicely. Love the chocolate rosette cakes. You have decorated them perfectly for valentines.❤️ Always a pleasure joining you at the table. Stay warm and cozy,
ReplyDeleteHi Marsha, I love your April Cornell tablecloth and its pattern. It can be used for any occasion with its colorway. The folk art hearts and stars are perfectly charming. Your centerpiece is the ideal choice for winter. The mini dessert rose of chocolate looks delicious and yes to chocolate for Valentine’s! As always, it is a pleasure to join you at the table. Stay warm and Happy Valentine’s Day❤️
ReplyDeleteWow – this beautiful tablecloth was the perfect starting place – I love April Cornell designs! Those embroidered hearts and stars are just darling, and the red hearts on the candles were a surprise; what a fun touch! And the chocolates cakes look so yummy – so perfect for Valentine’s! Thanks for this inspired take on the holiday – it’s always fun hopping with you!
ReplyDeleteMarsha, ooh, I love the April Cornell tablecloth as the basis of your Valentine tablescape! The felted ornaments give the table a homespun feel, very cozy for this wintertime holiday. The lighter blue placemats and blue on the stemware really pulls the look all together, and draws out that blue that you know and welcomed in my own tablescape. Your desserts look yummy, and apart from the weather in WI this time of year (we have enough of it ourselves, thank you very much for sharing), I'd love to be a guest at your table. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm in sharing your love of tablescaping by participating in this hop.
ReplyDeleteMarsha, I love the cozy warmth of your table setting which is particularly welcome this week! I think it's partly the specific shade of red that you selected as the starting point and partly the lovely greenery. The folk art hearts and stars are charming and somehow add a bit of Nordic flair. A wonderful and unexpected choice! And the chocolate dessert! sigh...... Happy Valentine's Day
ReplyDeleteMarsha, I think your AC tablecloth was perfect for your table. I love how the placemats and glassware pick up the blue colors in it's background and how it lets the red plates and mugs pop. The centerpiece was with greenery, berries, and hearts says Valentine's day with a wintery twist (as was certainly the case for many this year). The mini cakes look delicious and you have decorated them so beautifully. The folk-art hearts and stars add such a homey and welcoming touch and I'm sure that anyone would be delighted to be a guest at your lovely table. I hope the winter storm didn't cause too much chaos and that the worst of it is over. Wishing you a wonderful Valentine's day!
ReplyDeleteSo cute.
