The Debonair Vampire, Leonard

Meet Leonard.  Better known as the dashing and flamboyant vampire of Cornfield Castle.  Can you tell that underneath all of the glitz, glamour and extravagance, Leonard is easy going, extremely friendly and very popular among children and adults alike.

Leonard is also a good friend and neighbor of Ferdinand Frankenstein.  Do you remember him from last year?  If you missed his story, you can read about him at:  Ferdinand Frankenstein.

First, Leonard and The Little Yellow Corner Store wish to invite you to the Halloween Blog Hop which they are participating in and hosted by Rita from Panoply on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.  This hop is such a spooktacular event for readers to collect awesome ideas for their Halloween decorating.  Visit all of the designer's links at the end of this article to see their eerie and chilling ideas starting October 11th, 2022.

Leonard has a pleasing personality, a great sense of humor and the ability to put people at ease.  He surrounds himself with the things he loves and has a creative insight for making his home welcoming and fun.  Like this year's tablescape that he designed, Leonard knows how to convey his sense of fun with a bit of showy whimsy.  He loves to express his fancy style.  (Although, at times, it can be borderline over-the-top.)

Can you tell his type of style by his use of a black and white polka-dot table topper and his recycled black and silver pumpkin with plenty of bling for a floral centerpiece?

He definitely loves to make people feel content and happy.  He has a love for old things and contrary to his legend, he brings "new life" to the things that he collects.

Can you tell Leonard's favorite colors are red and purple.  He tells his friends and neighbors that it is his color design that gave the ladies' Red Hat Society their inspiration with the same colors.  "The bold contrasting colors of red and vibrant purple", he said, "brings out the loveliness in every woman who wears it.'   Adding a feather boa to the table runner expresses his feminine side.  It certainly conveys a softness that contrasts well with the red string placemats that look so much like spider webs.

Of course, his spider friends that crawl along the table are right at home.  They love visiting with Leonard.

Leonard's neighborhood bat friends also "hang around" for long afternoons and evenings.

Ferdinand suggested that Leonard whip up some of his famous vampire donuts for friends, family and neighbors to take home and enjoy.  These moist, delicate cake donuts are decorated with fangs, kind of a self-portrait of Leonard.  These delicious donuts bring a cautious smile to guests since they are a gentle reminder of just who is their host of this hair-raising party.......a lovable and charismatic vampire with a debonair smile.

An eerie glow comes from the lit haunted house design on the plate that is much like the mysterious glow in the house in which Leonard lives in.

  5. Oh Marsha, how much fun celebrating Halloween with a friendly Dracula! I laughed out loud when I read his theory on where the Red Hat Society got their theme colors ๐Ÿ˜‚ ! Love the red, purple and black and white polka dots, the adorable plates, red boa, and the blingy black pumpkin centerpiece. I think I'll pass on the tooth filled donuts though, yikes! 17. Im not sure what happened to my comment Marsha...but it seems to have disappeared. I wrote it on Tuesday, but as I was checking back to be sure I commented on each and every post...I saw my comment was not there. I specifically remember commenting, because I started the comment with Marsha! Marsha! Marsha! lol However, I never rule out operator error! :)
I love your characters...who can forget Ferdinand from last year? Hmmmmm? And now Leonard with his words of wisdom? Red Hat theory colors works for me. I always look forward to that little somethin' somethin' that you usually have....like the lamb butter mold at Easter, etc. The little coffins are a perfect addition and a place for Leonard to rest "between gigs"
Always a pleasure to blog hop with you.
